New in Pleo: Say hello to Pleo's MCP
We're always working to make Pleo smarter, smoother, and (even) more helpful for managing your company spend.
This edition leads with a big one: Pleo's MCP. Now you can connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot directly to Pleo, and let it work for you. Searching for expenses. Chasing missing receipts. Pulling a real-time overview before month-close. Just ask in plain language, and your AI tool of choice does the rest.
Plenty more where that came from. Let’s dive right in.
Connect your AI tool to Pleo

Managing expenses manually takes time. Now you can connect AI tools, like Claude or ChatGPT, directly to Pleo — and let them handle the repetitive work for you.
With Pleo's MCP, your AI assistant can search for expenses, chase people for missing receipts, check and set categories, tags, split VAT, and give your finance team a real-time overview ahead of month-close. No manual steps, no context switching. Just ask what you want in natural language, and AI does the rest.

Date locking for every expense type

Date locking now applies to mileage and per diem submissions, so backdated travel and monthly claims can no longer slip into a closed period. And if your team runs a 4-4-5, 13-period, or any other non-calendar accounting cycle, you can now configure that directly in Pleo — no more workarounds, no more "the Nth of next month" being your only option.
The end of copying rows by hand
The Employee Balance Statement is now available as a CSV. No more squinting at a static PDF or copying rows by hand — just a clean, filterable file that shows who's owed money, who owes Pleo, and who still hasn't added bank details before payout.
Expense splitting — now in your pocket

A hotel bill with room and breakfast. A team dinner across two budgets. Until now, these landed on finance's plate to untangle. Now spenders can split any expense in the Pleo mobile app — as many parts as they need, each with its own category, tags and amount. Coded correctly at the point of spend, so there's less to fix at month-end.
A fresh, powerful view for managing invoices

Keeping track of invoices just got a lot easier. The Invoices page has a new table layout that puts all the key details right in front of you — no more clicking through to find what you need. You can search and filter across multiple attributes, customise which columns appear, and take bulk actions like marking invoices as paid directly from the list. Currently rolling out to a selected cohort of customers, with a full rollout to follow.
Reconciliation without the guesswork
Month-end reconciliation can grind to a halt when your Pleo balance doesn't tie back neatly to your accounting software. The upgraded Running Balance Statement gives you a detailed, line-by-line view of every cash movement — available in both CSV and PDF — so you can cross-reference your Pleo balance against external records without gaps or guesswork.
The statement now covers card payments (with merchant names), invoice payments, foreign payments with full FX breakdowns, top-ups, withdrawals, currency exchanges, ATM withdrawals, reimbursements, Pleo charges, and cashbacks. You can also choose to receive it by email — making it easy to share with external accountants or auditors on request.
